Campgrounds & State Parks

Note: Some of these campgrounds are private, others are State-owned or in the National Forest or National Park systems. Current information about most public campgrounds can be found at the Visitor’s Center in Hoodsport (150 N. Lake Cushman Rd., Hoodsport, WA 98548, 360-877-2021) or the Quilcene Ranger Station/North Hood Canal Visitor’s Center in Quilcene (295142 Highway 101, Quilcene, WA 98376, 360-765-2200), or by contacting the appropriate government agency.

Campgrounds up in the Woods:

Hamma Hamma Campground: Located up the Hamma Hamma Recreational Road (Forest Service Road #25, located 14 miles north of Hoodsport), the Hamma Hamma Campground has 15 campsites that will accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 22 feet in length. Tables, fire rings, paved road, vault toilets and a nature trail are available within the campground. No potable water available. Potable water is available during the camping season, 2 miles west at the Lena Creek Campground. Garbage cans are not provided.

Lena Creek Campground: Also up the #25 road, Lena Creek has 13 campsites that will accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 22 feet in length. Well water, tables, fire rings, paved road, and vault toilets are available within the campground. Garbage cans are not provided.

Beach-front Campgrounds/State Parks (from North to South):

Dosewallips State Park, Brinnon, a 425-acre, year-round camping park with 5,500 feet of saltwater shoreline on Hood Canal and 5,400 feet of freshwater shoreline on either side of the Dosewallips River. The park is unique in that it offers both freshwater and saltwater activities. All camp areas are grassy and located in scenic, rustic settings.

Triton Cove State Park: Brinnon, no camping facilities, a 29-acre day-use park with 555 feet of saltwater shore on Hood Canal. This small park provides an ADA-compliant boat launch with access to near-shore fishing.

Lilliwaup State Park: Really just a widespot along Hwy 101 north of Lilliwaup, with a staircase down to public tideflats. Overnight car or rv camping is allowed.

Potlatch State Park, Potlatch, 57-acre camping park with 9,570 feet of saltwater shoreline on Hood Canal. The park’s beautiful grounds are home to a variety of activities, from interpretive programs for kids to boating and shellfish harvesting.

Lakefront Campgrounds

Lake Cushman Resort: Lake Cushman. Single, double, triple and quad sites, lakefront and non-lakefront sites, each with it’s own picnic table and fire ring. Wake up to the sound of the crows cawing or the wind whooshing through an eagle’s wings as it soars. Majestic mountain peaks and incredible lake view from the viewing deck. Awesome canapy of stars at night. Great family fun whether for a weekend or a week. Kayak, canoe, paddle & motor boat rentals in the Summer. Marina with moorage available. Swimming, tubing & fishing. Pet friendly.
